I've been absent from Blogland since April, processing big emotions from past events, and working out how to move on and grow.
I haven't produced much arty stuff lately, but here is something I've been working on. It's a small cutlery box for silver teaspoons. It's not glued down yet. I've just been playing. I found the dried flowers in one of my old books.
What is it about babies? I love them. I think it's because giving birth and breastfeeding have been healing experiences for me, a time when I felt I had no skin between me and the rest of the world. And butterfly wings represent freedom for me, as well as just being so beautiful...I've been doing a lot of reflecting lately.
This heart was for my mum for Mothers' Day way back in May. I made it from old doylies. The pocket was for holding something sweet and precious. She loved it.
This owl was something I left on the beach after a morning walk.
Now, I have a special invitation for the dear friends I've made who have visited my blog and left friendly comments. I've done another blogpost here about my journey over the past months, and I invite you to take a walk with me into our dry schlerophyll forest, listening to the birdsong. It is a very green and leafy post.
On July 15th I will be participating in Karen Valentine's 8th Annual Blog Party, 'Where Bloggers Create 2016' .
You can find out more about it here. There will be many drool-worthy craft spaces on display. The past years' links have been gorgeous. I've been working on a post about my craft space, and I'm looking forward to sharing that with you all.
I'm linking with Wen's Simply Neutrals Party # 26 here. Check out all the neutral toned loveliness on display via her linky party.
Have a wonderful Summer break - while I'll be celebrating our Winter Solstice here in Australia soon.
Hugs,
Jesse
Hello sweet friend, I'm so happy to see you on your blog and at the party again! You have been missed dearly, but it is so good of you to take time for healing. The heart you made for your mum is so gorgeous and sweet! That sweet little winged girl you added to the pocket makes it just perfect! I'm absolutely in love with it! And the box is coming along so beautifully as well. And so meaningful. The owl brought a big smile on my face :) I do that too, creating while on the beach or in the woods, arranging things I find on the way. It is so relaxing and soothing. Karen's party, oh how I wish I could join! But alas, I'm in the mountains probably without any internet access... Sending you big big hugs and happy smiles, and wishing you a sunny day. Take care dear! xx
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Wen, It's so lovely to 'hear' your lovely voice again! How wonderful for you to be in the mountains, without internet! I hope it's a bushwalk or something outside, celebrating nature, as I know you love to do. Thanks for your hug :) Sending one back to you, too XXOO
DeleteDear Jesse,
ReplyDeleteI`m so in love with the beautiful heart you gifted your monther,-ofcourse she loves it,-so adorable, and the box too. is filled with sweetness, and so lovely elements creating a wonderful lid, for what might be inside . Love the dried hydrangea flowers, too.
I forgot to mention your beautiful friends, in the other comment, they are surely so happy you found them and have given them a wonderful life, even the one is still fighting the terrible experiences it had!!
Sending you hugs,
Dorthe
Thank you for your sweet and lovely comment, Jesse.
Hello dear Dorthe, It's so good to 'hear' your voice again too, so positive:) You are such a caring person. Yes, it is so good to have adopted two more family members to join the circle of love in our home. Furry purry friends are so healing...Hugs to you,

Hi Jesse
ReplyDeleteIt's all about little steps and it is nice to see you taking little steps on your road to recovery just playing with all those materials in your room which are so familiar to you like the vintage baby photos which must remind you of the time you felt so nurtured and so it is happening again for you.
The box creation is very significant and will always be there as a reminder and soon the lid will be complete. Looking so pretty Jesse just as the little embroidered lace pocketed heart for your mother with the reminder in it of the angel who has wings and is flying!!!
I am sure you are enjoying the process of preparing your blog post for "Where Bloggers Create" I will be there keenly to see your creative space!
Take care and let the love and light shine into your life!
Warm hugs,
Suzy
Hello my dear Suzy, Thank you for bringing so much good into my life - your friendship and artistic inspiration is heart-warming. You are so right about little steps, every day. I am realising how important this creative time, and the materials I enjoy collecting and displaying, is for nurturing my heart. The hope at the bottom of Pandora's Box is firmly in mind as I learn to accept some sadnesses, to forgive and let go, as well as the courage to start being clear about what is important and necessary in my life.
DeleteYes, I am so enjoying creating the post for "Where Bloggers Create". It's something I have wanted to do for a while, now. I hope we will see your new space, too :)
Love and hugs,
Jesse
Dear Jesse, what a joy to have found you through Wens Simply Neutrals party. Such gorgeousness everywhere! I look forward to getting to know you. Mimi xxx
