Hello Friends,
Here are some vintage postcards I inherited from my grandparents, displayed with luscious laces. My sister and I had such fun sharing them out between us. She has a lovely collection too.
And a collage I made recently using old sheet music, a scrapbooking paper snippet, fabric scraps, dried plants, dyed netting, vintage lace and images of a butterfly, baby and roses, all on a background that was an old book cover.
I'm joining Wen's Simply Neutrals Tuesday party at her blog, AppleApricot.
Why don't you pop across to see the gorgeous neutral artworks, collectables and photo art on display? You may like to share some too...
Wishing you a creative week,
Jesse XX

Thank you Susi. You will be looking forward to Spring, while we here in Australia are starting to feel Autumn change in the air. However, we'll still enjoy some hot days yet, I'm sure.

How lovely that you inherited these vintage lovely postcards from your parents!
ReplyDeleteThat makes them extra special!
Your collage is so so sweet Jessie! I love the lovely tones you've used and it all looks so beautiful on the old book cover.
Hope your week is going well!
Love and hugs to you,

Hi Suzy, Yes, I really appreciate the special things passed down through my family. It's nice reading the back and recognising the writers' names, even if I never knew them. I really loved that pale green tone in the ribbon and the floral paper, and the dyed scrap of gauze. I would love to do more dyeing, especially the eco dyeing you showed us. Hope special things happen in your week, too :)

I love that pale green too, it's so gorgeous! And yes, I'd love to do more eco dyeing too :) I have two books on it, and already tried some of it, but some projects seem a little daunting at first. Let's take the plunge, shall we? :)
DeleteBig hugs xx
Yes, but I am trying to do much at the moment, so I am focusing on my Lightroom/Photoshop course for a bit to get more efficient, so I will need to do simple artworks for a while. But I would love to try the eco-dyeing. My avocado dyeing was successful. Let me know how yours goes - I'm sure we'll see a post from you showing it soon!

Sweetie, your collage is so so gorgeous!! And such a sweet photo you used for it. The vintage postcards are very beautiful, how wonderful to have these with your sister and from your grandparents! Such treasures.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a beautiful week dear, sending you big hugs and love, xx
Thanks, Wen for hosting SNT again. I hope you are getting enough time to do the creative things you really want to achieve - sounds like eco-dyeing is next!

Jesse,
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely collection of postcards you have from your grandparent's! They are amazing. I have some as well that were sent to my Great Uncle (Christmas cards) but they are not photos. Your collage is just adorable, oh my goodness! I love it!
Thanks, Nancy, I love all the old postcards. I have others too that are not photos, and they are so pretty. I'll show those another time - you might like to show yours one Christmas?
