Vintage Baby Photo Frame Trees

Hello dear friends,

It's the hectic time of the year, and I'm late with joining Simply Neutrals, but here I am!

These little metal frames hanging on a tree caught my eye at a thrift shop, and I couldn't resist displaying some of my precious orphan pictures from days gone by. I have no idea who they are, but they are the sweetest little angels.

My wonderful Mum gave me these amazing vintage pin cushion shoes, and they are a perfect accompaniment here.

I haven't seen these photo frame trees before, but I found another one in op shop again a couple of weeks later - maybe they are out of fashion, but I'm happy!

A pretty butterfly display with some of my Spring forget-me-nots. I'm certainly not forgetting these, as my cat comes in matted with their seeds every day! Argh! But I do love them!

On a recent walk I found these beautiful pinky shades of gumleaves on the ground, and decided to display them. The range of colours and tones is delicious, isn't it?

I've picked up a few cast-off Christmas decorations, but this year I found this lovely pink santa in a Christmas shop and couldn't resist him... I spray-painted the brush trees pink. The tray is a rescue too, and I spray painted it pink too.

These white lilies were going to be rained on, so I decided to pick some for the Christmas display...

  1. So pretty are the little frames of sweet babies, your gorgeous gum leaves in those amazing shades, Christmas Lillies - already! and the lovely Christmas vignette with your newly acquired Santa! Fabulous images with your neat descriptions.
Not sure if I can join in for quite a while as we are leaving for Canberra in the am for a close friend's funeral and will be supporting my friend's partner before and after the burial. Such a sad time!
Hoping your Christmas plans are relaxed!
Hugs for the time being Jessie!

    1. Dear Karen, Thanks for your lovely comment. It is such fun to prepare for Christmas with its decorations and cheer. It's a pity the children are almost grown up now, and there's not the same spontaneous, excited energy. Good luck with your blog, it's beautiful!
      Love and hugs,

  3. You have brought back a moment in time with the family Tree display Jesse, my Great Grandmother used to have one quite similar but with more branches. I'm not sure whether her's was silver as it appeared blackened by the coal fire but it would always intrigue me with it's family photo's of those I had never met. I wonder what ever became of those wee children upon your Tree.
What beautiful shades from those Gumtree leaves each one appears to have it's own personality.. and your rescued Lily's look a picture within your Christmas display.
Thank you for sharing and evoking fond memories.
    Creative Wishes Tracey.

  7. So lovely to find kindred souls who cherish the same kinds of beauty. Love your pretty 'orphans' tree, your home must be wonderful to explore. I'm not familiar with gum leaves at all, they look wonderful with such varied, soft pinky hues. Finally, I love your pink Santa. Pink Christmas decor always looks beautiful. Nicola x
