Blog Header Part Two

Hello friends,

In my previous post, I started to describe my process for making my new blog header (version 2 is below), but I wandered off the track a bit to tell you the story of the background - a texture from the wall of the Yarralumla Shearing Shed stands in Canberra, Australia.

My new blog header is a celebration of things I make and love... collages, fairies, old books, vintage laces, luggage, cabinet cards and ephemera.

The second version here was too large, so I had to cut down its depth while trying to simplify the clutter a little. (I get inspired and want to include everything!)

Below is one of my collages made for a friend's wedding anniversary.

Here's the final version, cleaned up with spot healing brush... I'm very happy with it, and look forward to doing another in the future.

    1. Hello Dorthe, I have been preparing images for a while now, and slowly doing online courses on Photoshop and Lightroom, which I am enjoying immensely. I Googled how to change the blog header, and what size to make it. I like doing things myself if I can work it out without too much headache.
      Love and hugs to you,

    1. Hi karen,
I'm so glad you enjoyed my process - I think it's nice to see each element at a larger size as they disappear into the whole. Enjoy your week.
      Sending love,

  4. I love the look of your creations, Jesse. Someday I am going to try working with the materials you use and making a piece of art.

I also love AppleApricot and Wen's creations in Simply Neutrals. Some really lovely eye candy over there.

Just keep doing what you are doing and inspiring the rest of us to keep "doing".

    1. Hello Naomi - yes, one day the inspiration will just hit you and you'll start creating and discover that it's not too hard. I am very inspired by others' work - especially Wen and SuzyQ, who are regular inspiration :)

  5. That certainly is a lovely header Jesse! You must have spent some time in Photoshop bringing it all together drawing on some of your beautiful images!
I always make my own header also but only do it rarely as I forget the process in between time LOL! I think I must be due for an update!
You certainly have a lovely collection of things in your studio to photograph and use like the old case, the Fairy Book and, of course, your beautiful artwork.
    Love and hugs to you!

I haven't changed my header for ages either, so it was time - and I had to start from scratch since I had forgotten how to do it too! LOL! Oh well, at least we are using our brains!
