Gorgeous Neutrals Linky Party # 1 Vintage Wedding Dress

Wen Sylvestre of
               is having a linky party...

I'm joining in with some of my cherished neutral bits and pieces I've been collecting for years, some natural objects and some photos I've taken recently at our local museum.

I've been volunteering to take photos at my local museum in Moruya, Australia. My first few pictures are of a gorgeous wedding dress called 'Lillian'. It was worn by Lillian Pearce at her wedding to William Hunt in Newtown, Sydney in 1913.

Next, some beautiful sticks I found while walking on the beach...

I'm not sure if a black background is 'neutral'?

These scales don't work, but they are so beautiful...

I love this picture in its silvery frame.

A couple of special old books...

The theme is neutral coloured beauty, found, made or bought this week. You can post anything in cream, white, beige, grey, silver and brown. So pop over to wen's blog to see more at   www.appleapricot.blogspot.com http://appleapricot.blogspot.com.au/2015/09/simply-neutrals-tuesday-1.html

Thanks Wen for giving us this opportunity to share our beautiful neutrals!

Take care,

Jesse

    1. Thanks, Suzy, yes those frames are yummy, aren't they? The wedding dress is amazing. You can see it on display at the Moruya Museum. It's an old two-storey house that has been donated with everything inside as it was when the family lived there years ago. It even has Bega Stove. Local people have donated all sorts of stuff too. Thanks for your newsy email, so nice to hear what you are up to.
      Hugs,
      Jesse

  5. Hi Jesse! It's so nice to meet you. What lovely items you have shared with us. I love your blog. And yes, I personally feel that black is a neutral and use it quite often in my art and home decor. I think it keeps neutrals from getting too washed out. Have a great weekend! Hugs, Sue

  11. Nancy, thank you so much for visiting! Yes, I couldn't leave those scales behind. Funny, I was touring a National Trust home near Yass on the weekend, the home of Hume (one of our Australian explorers), and there in the old kitchen was the same set of scales, but they weren't painted gold as mine have been by somebody who didn't like the old black look (sadly!). My heart stopped in excitement. I don't know if I could get the paint off mine without ruining them, though. They are just right for measuring beauty, anyway!
