Wedding Card and 'for the love of bees'...

It's so good to have some creative time again. This is my response to Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday prompt:

for the love of.....

bees
those small furry honey-makers
roaming the world from flower to flower,
spreading pollen
keeping nature growing....

I processed the image colour in Radlab. In this image I used several of Kim's textures - Cherish Scripted, Inked and Tea-stained, plus one of her masks (New Mask 1, I think). I used my new macro lens, a Nikon 200mm f4 on my Nikon D90.

I've been having some fun making a wedding card for my niece using old coffee-stained lace.

Framing a picture

Texture used: Kim Klassen's Manuscript

Make it Golden

Day 85 of Kim Klassen's Course.

This is a bay mouse the kids found in our compost. So sweet; it's sad that they are a pest. We let them go - probably we'll regret that later as we hear the scurrying of tiny feet in our ceiling!

Kim showed making a picture appear filled with golden light using her texture 'Kristin'. This is a baby rat my son found as he worked on our compost bin.

Here's another picture using this process:

Day 43 Book Spine Poems

This week in Kim Klassen's course we were set the task of creating poems using book spines. Here are my two:

In this one I used Kim's textures February Magic and Graduation Day, plus some butterfly brushes by presity 9.

The second one has a texture from Kim called 'artjoytexture'.

Day 42 Adding a quote

My favourite David Austen rose still bloomed in my garden in Winter! It's in a beautiful vase that had a broken handle so now it has a bow to hide the handle. I used Kim Klassen's 'kimklassenlove' texture and a free brush from http://aka-joe.deviantart.com/art/Floral-Swirl-Brushes-107859186. You can't really see the gradient added to the text area because of the texture, but I liked the effect.
